24 HOURS FOR THE LORD COMES TO JACKSON:

24 Hours for the Lord is coming to the Jackson Region Friday March 9th and Saturday March 10th at St. Joseph Oratory, 205 N. Waterloo.
Begun by Pope Francis during the Year of Mercy 2015, this is a regional
opportunity to combine Eucharistic Adoration with the Sacrament of
Reconciliation. We are especially hoping to reach out to the fallen away and those who have left the practice of the faith, but indeed all are
welcome and encouraged to participate. This is an event sponsored by all our parishes for all of our people.

There will be a kick off Mass at 7pm on Friday the 9th and a special holy hour at 6:00pm on Saturday evening the 11th. See the ad in this bulletin with the full schedule of events. There will be a priest available for confession for 24 hours straight. If it has been a long time since your last confession or you’ve had a bad experience in the past, come experience the love of mercy of God in the sacrament. Mark your calendars
and spread the word that 24 Hours for the Lord is on its way! Even if you don’t make a confession, just come and pray. The theme for this year’s initiative is, “With you God, is forgiveness” (Psalm 130:4). Invite
family and friends to Grow+GO with us during this special time. Whether you stay for five minutes or two hours, come and pray during the 24 Hours for the Lord, Jackson Regional Lenten Mission of Mercy.

One response to “Lent”

  1. Good Shepherd Catholic Radio’s very own Harry Hill is on hand at the Queen’s Fish Fry. He fries up the best fish in town!

I tried Harry’s fish for the first time this past Friday. I was only planning on eating one piece, but I ate two. If I wasn’t “Fasting” I would have gone for seconds and ate three or four pieces and probably would have needed to go to confession for gluttony.
