Almost 200 people gathered Tuesday, September 26th on the public sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood for the opening prayer rally of 40 Days for Life. Prayers and beautiful music glorifying God highlighted the rally. Bishop Earl Boyea prayed with us and encouraged the crowd to remain faithful and vigilant for life. Father Brian Lenz shared a personal story involving an abortion-minded family member but chose life and was so grateful for Fr. Brian’s intervention and support in her time of great need. A small church in Olivet, Michigan contacted us asking to be part of 40 Days and, of course, we were elated. Elder Jeffrey Whitson, of City on a Hill Church in Olivet,
offered powerful prayers and reminded the body of Christ to witness with love and mercy. Beth Thorrez, the Jackson 40 Days for Life coordinator, recounted a beautiful and heartwarming story of a young woman waiting for a cab on the steps of Planned Parenthood right where we were gathered. She had been there for an abortion referral and thankfully the cab never showed up to give her and her small child a ride home. Beth offered her a ride and the beautiful work of saving baby and mother began. The mother is choosing life and will be born mid-November! Thanks be to God for the witness of pro-life people. We will need ongoing help throughout the 40 Days for Life. Please see where the most needed times for prayer volunteers are on the calendar at https://40daysforlife.com/local-campaigns/jackson/.
